Privacy Policy
How Australian Community Aged Care collects, uses and protects your personal information.
Australian Community Aged Care (ACAC) — My Nursing Agency Pty Ltd — respects your privacy. We handle your personal and health information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), the Australian Privacy Principles, and our obligations as a registered aged care provider under the Aged Care Act 2024.
What we collect
To arrange and deliver your care, we may collect: your name, contact details and address; your date of birth and My Aged Care details; health and care information relevant to your support plan; funding and contribution details; and the names of family members or representatives you ask us to involve. We only collect what we genuinely need to care for you well.
How we use it
We use your information to plan and deliver your services, coordinate with your care partner and nurses, manage your budget and statements, meet our regulatory and safety obligations, and stay in touch with you. We do not sell your information, and we never share it for marketing by others.
Who we share it with
We only share your information where it's needed for your care or required by law — for example, with the healthcare professionals delivering your services, with My Aged Care and the Department of Health, Disability and Ageing, with Services Australia for funding, or with the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission. Where we use trusted service providers (such as secure IT systems), they are bound to protect your information.
Keeping it safe
We store your information securely and limit access to the people who need it to care for you. We keep records only as long as required by law and then dispose of them securely.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it's wrong, and ask questions about how we handle it. Just contact us and we'll help. If you're ever concerned about how we've handled your information, you can also contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or 1300 363 992.
