Where it began

The question that started us.

Every aged care company says they care. So we asked ourselves a harder question: "Would this be good enough for my own mum?" Not efficient enough. Not compliant enough. Good enough for Mum. Every nurse we hire, every price we publish, every phone call we answer has to pass that one test. It's a high bar — and it's exactly where we like it.

Local on purpose

Every light on this street is someone we know by name.

You're not a client number. You're Margaret. You're Raj. You're Dad. When you call us, we don't ask who you are — we know. Care isn't something we deliver to a roster; it's something we bring to a person, and a person is best known up close.

That's why ACAC only ever grows the way communities grow: one neighbourhood at a time, each with its own local team. Not strangers dispatched across a city, but your team — people who live where you live, recognise your voice on the phone, and know the roses out front were your late husband's. However many communities we reach, this is the shape we'll reach them in.

Clinical care, family feel

Medicine that hangs its stethoscope in your kitchen.

When something worries you at 7pm, you don't want a call centre reading from a screen. Our registered nurses are ACAC people — they sit in our meetings, they know our families, and when they walk into your kitchen, they're walking into a home they've been in before.

Clinical care with a familiar face is safer care. It's also kinder care — the kind where the kettle goes on first.

What we stand for.

Dignity

Every person deserves the utmost respect and care, in every interaction.

Compassion

We lead with empathy, taking time to truly understand every individual we serve.

Independence

We empower our clients to live life on their own terms, safely at home.

Excellence

From care partners to coordinators, we hold ourselves to the highest standard.

Our promises

We put our money where our heart is.

Words are easy, so here's what we actually promise — in writing, to every family:

Prices published in full

Every rate, on the website, for anyone to see. No "call us for pricing." See them now →

Statements you can actually read

Every month: what was spent, on what, and what remains. No mystery lines, no magnifying glass required.

A money-back guarantee

If we don't live up to what we've said, you get your money back. Unusual for aged care? That's rather the point.

Founded on family.

The people — and the belief — behind ACAC.

Dr Aman Chahal, founder of Australian Community Aged Care

Dr Aman Chahal
FOUNDER

ACAC isn't run from a head office in another city. We're a boutique, family-founded team of care partners, registered nurses and support workers who live in the same communities as the people we look after — and who answer the phone when you call. Everything we do rests on one belief: older Australians deserve support that is genuinely personal, clinically sound, and given with warmth.

That belief began with our founder, Dr Aman Chahal. Hers is an unusual background for aged care — postdoctoral research fellowships in Australia and the United Kingdom, First Class Honours in Psychology, and frontline work as a Behaviour Support Practitioner. But it's precisely that blend of scientific rigour and hands-on care that shapes how ACAC works today: strong clinical oversight, care partners who are genuinely yours, and a hands-on approach to every person's wellbeing. As ACAC has grown across Adelaide and Melbourne, holding on to those qualities — never the growth itself — has always been the point.

“Great care begins with listening. Every person we support has their own story, their own home and their own way of living — and our job is to fit around their life, not the other way around.” — Dr Aman Chahal, Founder
