Your rights, in writing.
Every person receiving aged care in Australia has a Statement of Rights — and we hold ourselves to every line of it.
The Aged Care Act 2024 sets out a Statement of Rights that every registered provider must uphold. It isn't a nice-to-have or a poster on the wall — it's the standard we're measured against, and we welcome being held to it.
As a person receiving care from ACAC, you have the right to:
Be treated with dignity and respect
Your identity, culture, beliefs and choices are honoured — always.
Safe and quality care
Care that is safe, effective, and delivered with kindness by people who are trained and vetted.
Make your own choices
You lead. Your care fits around your life, your home and your preferences — not the other way around.
Have your independence supported
We help you keep doing what you can, for as long as you can.
Be told the truth about your money
Clear pricing, honest statements, and no hidden costs — ever.
Speak up without fear
You can give feedback or make a complaint at any time, and it will never affect your care.
Have someone by your side
Involve family, a friend or an advocate whenever you wish.
Privacy and confidentiality
Your information is yours. We keep it safe and share it only as needed for your care.
If you ever feel these rights aren't being met, please tell us — see Feedback & Complaints. We'd always rather hear from you than have you carry a concern quietly.
